This is Tahiti
Tahiti is a single island in French Polynesia. French Polynesia is a group of 118 islands. Within this system the islands are divided into smaller groups. There are five main groups of islands and they are called the Society Islands, Tuamotu Archipelago, Marquesas Islands, Gambier Islands. Austral Islands.
Tahiti is found in the Society Islands, and aside from Tahiti the largest islands are Ahe, Bora Bora, Hiva' Oa, Huahine, Mai'ao, Maupiti, Meheti'a, Mo'orea, Nuku Hiva, Raiatea, Taha'a, Tetiaroa, Taupua'i, and Tupai.
In 2012, there were only 268,000 residents in French Polynesia. The demographic consists mainly of Polynesian, French, or Chinese decent.
Tahiti and the other Society Islands were settled about 200AD, making these chain of islands one of the last places on Earth settled by Humans. The French first made their appearance in French Polynesia in the late 1700's.
