let them eat cake... and soup

Yes.
You can be jealous.
It tastes even better than it looks.

I made homemade chicken noodle soup too.
Even the noodles were homemade...

But I ate it before I got a picture.
*sigh*

BUT

Last night I had the last interview for my mission papers,
so...

I should get my call the Wednesday before
Thanksgiving!

I am so, so, so excited.

I'll keep you posted,
but in the mean time,
what are your guesses?

Where am I going??

Don't be shy!

Dear President Obama Bashers

Happy day after election day!!

Okay.  Pet peeve of the week:

A large majority of my Facebook feed complaining that President Obama was reelected.

Come on.

First of all, call him President Obama, not "Obama." It's a matter of respect, you call men or women in certain positions certain names whether it be religious, political  or even family oriented.  Calling your mother "Mom" instead of "Marcie" is a way of respecting her.

Respect our president.  The people gave him this position, whether you like it or not.

He was our president for four years, instead of looking at all the "negative" things about him, or the past four years, look at the positives.  Believe it or not, good things haaaave happened.

Our country spoke.  President Obama won by a lot.  Like, a lot a lot. By over 100 electoral votes.

AND

He even won the popular vote.

The great thing about our county is the ability we have to CHOOSE as a NATION who will lead us for four year.

We could have a system like Britain  where Parliament chooses who their prime minister is and have a queen.

Our country could be run by a terrorist organization.

But it's not.

President Obama will not run our country into the ground in the next four years.

Even if he tries (which he won't)  our Constitution allows for checks on the Executive branch.

Congress writes the laws.

Not the president.

Congress controls the budget.

Not the president.

And if the president over steps his bounds, Hey! we can impeach him.

It's hardly fair to blame the "bad economy" on President Obama.  He stepped into it, and it's gotten better since he was first elected.

Just because there's a "D" next to him name does not mean he has no values or limits.

Take a step back.

He's just a normal American with a family, trying to do his best.

Let's give him a little support, yeah?

Thanks.

p.s. I voted for Romney, and I am just fine with President Obama because the country spoke collectively, as whole, and he has my full support.

The Satisfied Ewe

Welcome to the Satisfied Ewe.  It's kinda of an oxymoron of a name, if I do say so myself.  This quaint (*cough* sketchy) looking place is found right in downtown Ephraim! Granted... All of Ephraim is downtown. It's one of those places that you can tell the locals eat at, and hey! I'm as good as local, so Brenda and her friend Alexis decided to give it a try with me.

You walk and and you can smell the down-home cooking.  It's a good smell, not a greasy Mickey-D's smell. Then you pick any table you want and wait for the waitress to bring you your menu.

Alexis, left.  Brenda, right.

As soon as we sat down we noticed 8 or 9 older ladies in the back corner chatting away. Definitely locals. And definitely opinionated.  We eavesdropped on their conversations and had a good laugh as they complained about how the turkey farms have changed over the years, how they set aside money for members in their group for when their husbands die, and how their husbands annoy them.  I snickered a good few times.  They're quite the characters.

B and A got Root-beer  I'm not much of a soda drinker, I prefer water.  It was good homemade root-beer though, I stole a sip, Then we all ordered the exact same thing, weird I know.

The salad was so delicious. There's something about restaurant salads, they're always just better than the ones you make at home. (I want a bottle of restaurant ranch dressing for Christmas.) Then we had chicken strips! Yum! They were just like the ones at Burger Bar and were the same price. Yes!! Score.

I wish there would have been more green deliciousness on my plate though....  I would still take a salad or a tofu stir-fry over chicken strips and french fries, any day.

So, all in all, if you're a fan of french fries, chicken, and Texas toast. The Satisfied Ewe is the place for you!  (hehe that rhymed)  The side salad is fantastic. I'd go back just to eat that.

Oh, and you get this on the back of your check.

Ephraim for the win!
